Topic: Does not run Excel evev when is in AUTO selected

Hi all,
I got an error "The system cannot find the file specified, ProgID: :Excel.Application" . I don't have installed the MSOffice but I have the LiebreOffice installed, and in the Button I have select AUTO to work with both office suites. Does anyone knows how to solve it ?

Hi,
Like you, I do not have Excel but both options of 'Auto' and 'OpenOffice' work for me without any issues (Windows 10 / MVD 6.5).
Perhaps attach your project to see if something else is the problem.

Hi, I tested my program in another pc and works fine. Conclusion..my pc must have some problem... Must find now where!!!

Is there a script to open the tablegrid in excell or better Auto (excel and openoffice) ?

If the program does not find registry entries about Excel or Calc on your computer,
it cannot call and execute export functions (OLE automation).
I previously gave a link to what parameters and how they are checked.
I checked the operation of MVD on a clean virtual machine with LibreOffice x64 24.2.5.2 installed.
MVD works and performs export in auto mode.


Solutions for you may be:
- uninstall and reinstall LibreOffice on your computer
- save to a CSV file and open in the desired program

Hi sparrow. Thanks for the link.  If I understand correctly it checks if there is a program to execute xls files. Because I can not understand the script can I just copy and paste it or must I modify it?

Hello pozidis, Derek, Sparrow
1 - You install on your machine Excel or Calc of LibreOffice or both.
2 - You place on a form the possibility to choose your spreadsheet
3 - If Excel, you select in Action the Excel option - If Calc, you check in Action the Libre Office option
4 - In Action, the Auto mode lets MVD select the spreadsheet already present on your machine (Excel or Calc) (if this is the case)
5 - If no spreadsheet is present, you are out of the game and MVD will wait for you to resolve your case.
