Hi,
There are different approaches that you could take depending on whether you want something that is quite generic and can be applied to many situations or whether you want something very specific which would suit one particular work-instruction scenario but no others.
As a suggestion, I've knocked up a program that is more general-purpose which you might be able to alter to suit your needs. It works on a pretty standard 3-stage principle - 1. overall job details, 2. 'steps' details (using your terminology) and 3. 'tasks' details (using your terminology).
Basically, create a job. Then, having highlighted the 'job' in tablegrid1, you can maintain 'steps' in tablegrid2 and, having highlighted a 'step', you can then maintain 'tasks' in tablegrid3.
Sample 'steps' and 'tasks' are held in configuration tables and can be used in discrete jobs as required.
I've not bothered with things like images, progesss counters etc which, if required, can come later. But firstly it's important to get the basics working.
Also, I've used dates instead of 'check boxes' as it gives you more information (ie not only has a 'task', 'step' or 'job' been done, but you can also see the date on which is was done).
But if your requirement is more specific and doesn't need to be more of a work-instruction 'template', then if you can provide more information about the business process flow from start to finish, I'm sure someone would be able to advise.
Regards,
Derek.
