Hello Friends,
It's been a while since I've worked with My Visual Database. Been working on my degree and finally complete it during this pandemic.
Now I'm back at it creating simple databases with My Visual Database.

I created a database for my monthly and annual expenses.
I would like to be able to automatically calculate my expenses based on the monthly and annual selected Combobox and have it reflect in the input box.

Attached is a screenshot of UI.

Thanks
Eddie

Hello Dmitry,

sorry for the late response, just getting back to college.

I would say something similar like, when using Wordpress adding as many tags to a post.

Having the ability to populate a text field with keywords.
Example:   Product: Website  Keyword Tags: html, css, images, xml, php, color,

When conducting a search on : css
the product website shows on grid table.

Hello Derek,

This is PERFECT!
Just as I envisioned it.

I should be able to come up with some
nice designs.

Very excited!
Again, Thank you Derek.

Hello Everyone,

I would like to use an graphic icon to replace for the regular button used in mvd.
When the icon is hovered over it changes to a different color and should be able to
link it to another form.

Is this possible?

Hello everyone,

Is there a way to search a database using multiple keywords separated by a comma?

Majority of my projects are categorized and noticed other category elements at times have
similar keywords.

I would like to search for those particular keywords instead of the category they pertain too.

Thank you,
Eddie

Hello Everyone,

How do I personalize the "About" page?

I'm using Resource Hacker software to personalize the About page on the my development apps.
I'm able to successfully edit the content with no problem.

Although I've noticed that the link tag is hard coded to myvisualdatabse.com for some
reason I can't get it to link to my website.

Also I would like to change the image on the About page to give it a personal look to my theme?

Is there a way to override this procedure?

Thanks
Heriberto

Update...

I was populating all empty fields in my MVD application.
I usually find out what other things I may want to add on the application
after doing this.

Come to find out.. I was able to delete the line item in the Tablegrid.

It might have been a glitch.

It fixed on it's own.

Hello Everyone,

It's been a while... been quite busy in college drawing stick figures. :-)
Before anything HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm having trouble deleting a row from the tablegrid.

I highlight the first row on the tablegrid using the white cursor arrow on my desktop.
with the intent to delete the first line item. This is when I receive the nasty window pop-up stating
an "Error Message".

It's mind boggling because I can add line items and then delete the  additional unwanted rows.

What I've tried:
>> I deleted the delete button and recreated it with a different name. Didn't work.
>> I've recreated the tablegrid as well... Didn't work.

I provided a picture below hopes it makes sense. :-)

Hey Guys,

I greatly appreciate all of your input and definitely taken into consideration.
Although sorry for this late response, just started my 6 classes in college and currently in a time
crunch. The only challenge here is "Time Management" ...

I just ordered a book "Learn PASCAL in Three Days" Third Edition by: Sam A. Abolrous.
I find this book easy to understand and also find Pascal with some similarities as Javascript front end scripting.
hopefully next time I'll will be asking help on higher level programming.

Thank you,
Heriberto

Hello manixs2013,

Looked at the action settings for the "Save" button and noticed that "TableGrid1" has been selected to be saved.

I don't think MVD can save a TableGrid but it can save the field types within the Tablegrid.

I downloaded your example....

I removed the TableGrid in the Action settings for the "Save" button and added a textbox to be saved
within the TableGrid and it work fine.

Hope this helps...

Hello Derek,

You're absolutely right about that.. MVD forum is the place to get tips and tricks for my project apps.  Although if I'm lucky I must come across
these cool tricks to implement on my application. Usually I ask myself, how long will it take for me to come across these tips and tricks.  I've developed about 20 + databases for my own use with some progression nothing extraordinary. :-) Although I've come along way using MVD in comparison to the day I started. I would really like to catapult my  ideas and transform them into an actual software application that will create value to a user. With that said, my programming skill set level is at 1%! LOL!

I'll be doing 11 weeks of hardcore school studying / Learning (Javascript, Algebra, Concept Design, Design Fundamental) so I'm going to have to put Pascal Programming aside for now.
During my studying phase I end up with my own great ideas. I create databases  in order to organize myself  and end up with amazing results.
I think at this point a cheat sheet would definitely benefit my learning curve and schedule.

Thanks for sharing your approach to programming with MVD.
I will definitely continue asking questions and I greatly appreciate your help.

Hello Dmitry,

I was wondering if there will be a Cheat Sheet for Tips and Tricks to utilize on  MVD that has been taken in consideration for the near future?

For example:

Combobox  (concatenate field names):

Type in fieldbox:  {fieldName1} - {fieldName2}

Result:  fieldName1 - fieldName2

The above example was sent to me on a zip file by Derek that he assisted me in one of my projects.
I was amazed with the innovation that Derek had used on a simple project! I wasn't aware of these cool ways to manipulate
data on MVD.

I'm not a programmer for databases or have the experience background yet, I just code website... I'm trying to get there. :-)
I think if there were a cheat sheet this would catapult MVD projects user from all experiences.

I personally have purchased  a cheat sheet spiral notebook (HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, Font,Color, DOM) from VisiBone that I use on my web development projects.   website to view example: http://www.visibone.com/

Do you think this would be feasible with MVD?
Even if it was being sold as a product as Tips and Tricks on MVD website... What do you think?

Hello jean.brezhonek,

You just reminded me of Raptor - Flowchart Interpreter  when you mentioned pseudo code. It was a challenge learning the
the pseudo code when there where many ways to implement a working system into a software. After 11 weeks working with Raptor software I still struggled... :-)

I greatly appreciate the thorough information on MVD programming this will lead me the right direction.

again, Thank you!

Hello,

What programming language is MVD based off?
I'm planning on getting some video tutorials on Udemy in order to
incorporate on my projects in  MVD.

I'm fairly new to programming and only have taken programming logic in school.
This kind of gives you an idea where my level of knowledge is in  programming.

I've read someone mentioning Pascal Programming but not too sure if that's what
I should study...

What do you recommend?

thank you,

Hello everyone! :-)

I'm trying to show the same text information on two forms.

1. Location Form :  I would like to create a form called "Location" and populate it with hotel addresses.

2. Main Form: Here, I would like to be able to select on a combobox on my main form that retrieves information for all the hotels that I added in my Location form although, I would also like for the address information to automatically fill into it's perspective text box.

How would I go about doing this?

Image below depicts a visual of what I'm trying to accomplish.

Dmitry,

I completely overlooked the settings in "files in database".
Noticed when database was loading really slow...  :-)

I will add the module stated above.

Thank,

*** My Database ran out of memory ***

Intentions: I created the database to store all my graphic designs with large files. The average file is around 10MB.

Noticed: That my "save  image in database"  and "save file in database" elements were set to: Type: StoreFile

Changes:  I made changes to both database file and image properties to save files in /image/ folder that I created.
Properties were also set to:     type: LinkFiles.

Problem: The database is still really slow loading possibly due to the stored files in the database.

Is there a solution to this problem? Without deleting all my graphic design files?

Thank you,
Heriberto

Hello Dmitry,

I thought their might of been a difference..  the reason why I ask its because the website shows a display of the databases with a nice cool transparent frame. I don't have that on my database frame, so I was wondering. :-)

Thank you
Heriberto

I'm curious if there are added features on the Single User (Life Time Updates) MVD
that  Single User (Minor Updates) MVD  doesn't have?
