Unified Search

I have three tables.

I would like to have one search screen and based on the drop down field selected, to then search the specific table and show in the tablegrid.

Example:
Table A, Table B, Table C

Search screen would have a field: select table drop down options (A, B,C).
Based on the selected, I would then populate the search grid results.

Is this possible?  Or do I need to build three separate search screens?
